Helios Healthcare Advisors Structures Sale of 7-Location Assisted Living & Dementia Care Provider

CHICAGO, IL — Helios Healthcare Advisors announces its role in structuring the sale of Hometown Senior Living (“Hometown” or the “Company), a Minnesota-based assisted living and dementia care provider.

With seven locations throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro, Hometown was a family owned and operated provider that over the past ten years had grown to be one of the largest residential dementia care providers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro.

“This acquisition makes great sense for both organizations. The synergies that will be created will enable the Hometown legacy and senior care model to continue its proven success and grow well into the future. I’m excited for the opportunities this will create for staff and residents as the unified company expands and can offer our high-quality care model into even more communities”, said Gregory Hendricks, Hometown’s Principal and CFO.

Beacon Specialized Living (“Beacon”), a national provider of behavioral healthcare services to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs acquired the Company. With over 190 locations, Beacon is one of the largest residential specialized service providers in the country and through the Hometown acquisition, has added geriatric dementia care to its service line.

“We are continually looking to acquire high-quality providers with strong leadership and operations, and we’re excited to add Hometown to our growing family of specialized residential services. We look forward to continuing and expanding the wonderful legacy they have built,” said Darren Hodgen, CEO of Beacon.

“This transaction continues Helios‘ commitment to creating intersections between residential inpatient behavioral health and specialty geriatric care and housing providers. We feel that these care models share a lot of similarities both in housing formats and payor sources. In states like Minnesota where Medicaid waiver programs and licensure are common, it makes for a relatively easy transition from one care model to the other”, said Helios Managing Director Mario Santiago.

Helios served as exclusive sell-side advisor to Hometown throughout the process.
